What if I am not feeling pain?

Another important factor to understand is that some people feel little or no pain after a motor vehicle collision, but yet are in fact "whiplashed" by the event. The most common occurrence is to feel some degree of pain with two hours to two days following the accident. Delayed onset however is also a very common occurrence where pain begins weeks to even months later.

There have been many cases where individuals had no pain whatsoever but were found to be suffering from ligament, muscle, tendon and joint injuries that required treatment to prevent complications in the future. Most patients who undergo treatment in our office receive significant improvement in a short period of time. How long it will take for you will be determined by your examination.

Bottom line, if you have been involved in an accident, a thorough check up with a spinal specialist is a must regardless of whether you have pain or not.
